Vivace Music Foundation Cello Festival
August 12-22 2020

Vivac-e is unique. In addition to lessons, courses, discussions, master classes and more from our world-class faculty, participants receive the Vivac-e Audio Kit and pre-festival consultations with our resident audio engineer; all designed to get the best sound from home for virtual lessons.

• A minimum of 4 lessons with multiple faculty members.
• Access and participation in interactive discussions, interviews, master classes and thought-provoking courses featuring world-class faculty.
• Intense tutorials and pre-festival sessions with our resident audio engineers on how to create the best sound from home.

Vivace Music Foundation

Cello and Alexander Technique Course 

with Gillian Thoday and Margaret Edis

Jersey Academy  14-21 August 2020

Gillian and Margaret have an association that goes back more than thirty years and this will be the eighth year that they have collaborated on summer courses, with the main aim of encouraging greater ease and freedom in performance. Gillian is a highly respected cello tutor and Margaret a very sought after member of the Alexander Technique world, who has specialised for many years in working with musicians of all ages.

The course is for advanced cellists with a minimum of Grade 8 Distinction and at least 16 years old. It will comprise a maximum of ten participants who will receive intensive individual tuition from both coaches, with masterclasses and ensemble work. A resident accompanist is available and the course will end with a public concert at a local church.

The course fee is £750 residential. An Early Bird price of £700 applies for applications received by the end of January 2020. A non-refundable deposit of £150 is due on application.
