A characteristic example of the later work of Peter Wamsley (c.1670-1744) possibly showing the hand of his son, the younger Peter Wamsley (fl.1734-1751). The tone is deep, rich, warm and colourful, with a crisp response. The cello is in good repaired condition and has been overvarnished at some point in its history.
