Privacy Notice
Aitchison & Mnatzaganian Cello Specialists serve the worldwide cello community through our popular newsletters, website, cello set up service, cello making and Cello Exchange. We maintain a database of cellists who enjoy receiving our newsletters – by post or by email – and we work hard to keep this data safe through top-class virus protection, data back-up and careful management of our website. We are fully committed to fulfilling the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which became part of UK law in May 2018.
We are dedicated to maintaining the trust and confidence of all the cellists who visit us in Ely as well as the thousands of visitors to our website each year. We will never share your personal data with anyone, whether a commercial company, charity or individual. This Privacy Policy will explain when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.
Cookies and website data. When someone visits www.aitchisoncellos.com, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out, for example, the number of visitors to the various parts of the site and what search-string a visitor used to find our site. This information is fully anonymised so that it does not identify anyone visiting our site. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Database and email service. As part of the subscription service for our newsletter News for Cellists which is published in January, April and September, we collect personal information from you such as your email address or postal address, depending on how you decide to receive your newsletter. Postal addresses are stored on a mainframe computer database which is password protected and backed up daily. We use a third-party provider, Sendinblue, to contact our email subscribers. Our emails to subscribers simply contain a description of the newsletter contents and a link to the online version of the latest newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our emails. For more information, please see Sendinblue’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to these mailings instantly by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails. Alternatively, please email Sarah Mnatzaganian.
If you subscribe to our postal service and decide to cancel your subscription in January, April or September please note that your mailing label for the latest newsletter may already have been printed. We will do our best to remove your envelope from the mailing at this late stage, but please forgive us if one last newsletter slips through the net and reaches you. Your data will be deleted from the database as requested and you should receive no further newsletters after the current edition.
Cello Exchange data. If you wish to sell an instrument or bow through us, through our Cello Exchange process, we ask you to complete a form which includes your contact details and, if you wish, your bank details for payment when your instrument or bow is purchased. We store your information securely during and after the sale is completed. We do not share your data with anyone outside Aitchison & Mnatzaganian unless you ask us to provide a buyer with your payment details.
Invitation to review your data. You are entitled to view, amend or delete your personal data that we hold at any time. Please email Sarah Mnatzaganian
We will review this Privacy Policy on a regular basis. If you have any comments or queries in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
